A school at a teaching session

The Victoria Art Gallery provides a range of interactive and accessible activities that are fun and you learn about art too!

You may also visit the Gallery without taking part in one of our special activities. We ask that you book the group visit, even though there is free admission to the Gallery, as the facilities are full at peak times.

Are you taking part in the national annual celebration Shakespeare Week?

Join us to celebrate giving primary school children a great first encounter with Shakespeare. Book our free session below at the Victoria Art Gallery. To book a 90 minute session call 01225 477757 or email us.

Pouncing a portrait - Tuesday 21 March 10.30am to 12noon or 1pm to 2.30pm
Nowadays if you want multiple copies of something you would photocopy a sheet. In William Shakespeare’s time you couldn’t do this. The Tudor technique was called pouncing. Pounce a portrait of Henry VIII recreating an image in the Victoria Art Gallery.
