Key Stage 1 and 2

Image: Pupils at a teaching session

Key Stage 1

While our Upper Gallery is closed for roof repairs our team of experienced workshop leaders can visit local schools for an interactive session based on the National Curriculum using high quality reproductions from the collection and supplying all materials.

Pupils will be encouraged to develop their speaking and listening skills in whole class, small groups and by individual work.

Fruity Faces

Session time: 1hr

Explore our special still life paintings and create a fruity collage. Students will see how artists have used fruit and vegetables in contemporary art and historic paintings and then create a fruity collage face.

Far out Faces
Session time: 60 minutes.

Using wonderful portraits from the collection to understand how people’s lives are shown in art, students will explore their own face and learning some key principles for drawing faces and creating their own likeness.
