Enjoy a virtual walk through the galleries

The Gallery may be closed at the moment, but you can still explore our permanent displays on Google Street View. Head up to floor 2 to wander around the stunning Upper Gallery and see highlights of our collection. Can you spot the beautiful domed ceiling decorated with signs of the zodiac in the upstairs foyer?

Read about some Gallery highlights

The collection spans 500 years of European art and includes works by many artists who have a connection to Bath and the surrounding area, from Thomas Gainsborough to Howard Hodgkin. To read about a few highlights, download an Upper Gallery Guide.

Have a go at creative activities

Get creative with hands-on activities for art lovers of all ages. Make a piece of scratch art inspired by Grayson Perry, challenge yourself to answer questions about historical figures in our Portraits Quiz, find the names of artists in our word search, or be inspired to do some creative writing.

See inside the Lichfield Clock

Have a look inside the amazing Lichfield Clock, which is on display in our Upper Gallery. Gallery Manager Jon Benington discusses some of its features and explains how it works in this fascinating video.
