The Royal Photographic Society 152nd International Print
Exhibition
Bath & North East Somerset Council is
pleased to welcome the return of this perennially popular
exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery, between 9 January and 7
March 2010. Selected from a world-wide submission encompassing both
amateurs and professionals, there is something to please everyone,
with cutting edge images displayed alongside traditional
prints.
Almost 2,000 prints were submitted from over
500 photographers worldwide and 121 were selected for the
exhibition. The selection panel was chaired by The Society’s
Exhibitions Committee Chairman, Roy Robertson, and a Fellow of the
Royal Photographic Society.
Victoria Art Gallery Manager, Jon Benington,
said: “The 150th Royal Photographic
Society exhibition was so successful when it
was held at the Victoria Art Gallery in 2007 that we decided to
invite them back again for 2010. On that occasion we had
universally positive feedback and visitor numbers of 14,500, so we
can truly say that the RPS Open is back by popular demand”.
Roy Robertson FRPS said: “The final exhibition
fully represents the diversity of work submitted, and reflects the
desire throughout to promote new and individual images, and to
display outstanding Award winning images."
The 152nd International Print Exhibition has
been sponsored by international legal practice Allen & Overy
LLP for the second consecutive year, and they again provided a
prize fund, this year totaling £6,500.
Entry to the Victoria Art Gallery in Bridge
Street, Bath is free. It is open Tuesday – Saturday
10.00-17.00, Sunday 13.30-17.00. It is closed on Mondays. For more
