A painting in the collection
Augusta of Saxe-Gotha by Jeremiah Davison
c. 1738, has recently been conserved, thanks to a generous grant
from the Woodmansterne Art Conservation Award.
The painting was cleaned, and then re-lined. The overpaint was
removed, old damages were filled and retouchings in watercolour
carried out. Finally it was re-varnished.
The painting is displayed in the Banqueting Room in the
Guildhall, Bath.
