Although Peter Wells studied in Bath in the 1970s and has been
based here ever since, he spends six months of the year travelling
in India. He travels not as a tourist but as an ordinary person,
living and mixing with local people.
This exhibition consists of 27 images based on 9 collages
assembled over two years in South India.
The work was last shown in The British Council Chennai to great
acclaim.
"The artist in Wells sees each work as a statement of joyous
reflection, where drawing and colour are inextricably linked,
... becoming multifaceted
extensions of his commitment to translate the beauty of the eternal
Indian paradise."
