Volunteer Guide, Victoria
Art Gallery
The purpose of this new role is to warmly and
sensitively welcome visitors to the Gallery, explain what there is
to see and do and answer questions using your own knowledge and the
many resources available. The role presents an exciting opportunity
for members of the community to actively support one of the area’s
principal heritage attractions.
The duties are both enjoyable and exciting as
you will be meeting so many people and helping them with
information about the stunning works of art and architecture that
surround you. You will be given all the information you need and
will also trained to give guided tours of the Gallery’s permanent
collection.
The Gallery, Bath’s premier art museum, is a
beautiful Victorian building in the city centre next to Pulteney
Bridge. It houses paintings by Turner, Gainsborough and Constable
amongst many others, offers a lively programme of exhibitions and
events, and is visited by 116,000 people a year from all over the
world.
