Thomas Malton, The Completion of the Royal
Crescent, 1769
One of the most famous streets in Bath, the Royal Crescent now
overlooks the city. When it was built it was right on the edge of
the growing town. It was built by John Wood the Younger and
completed around 1775. He and his father, Wood the Elder, were
the two most important architects involved in building the Georgian
city.
